Comfort for the Wounded

Hurt of any kind can bring a lot of confusion. I found myself unable to read the Bible. It was just too overwhelming. I simply wanted comfort. Many times I latched on to a verse someone shared with me, or I read somewhere, or I would open my Bible to Psalms and read the beautiful poetry written there. The psalms always ministered to my broken heart. I strongly encourage, if you feel this way, just read a verse or two and meditate on the power of the words. Let yourself relax and be filled with the grace offered in these verses:

Psalm 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. This entire chapter is about the might and grace of God.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

John 8:38 And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.

Remind yourself today of the truth in your life. Do not give Satan any room for lies today!

2 Timothy 1:17 For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind.

Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Ephesians 3:17-20 I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in Him. May your roots go down deep in the soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand as all of God's people should, how high, how wide, how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness and power that comes from God. Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more then we would ever dare ask or hope.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all ye that are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Philippian 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds thru Christ Jesus.

Psalm 40:10 He lifted me out of the miry pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Zechariah 4:6 Then He answered and said unto me saying, "This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit says the Lord of hosts.'"

Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there shall your heart be also.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Psalm 119:49-50 Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me HOPE. My comfort in suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

Hebrews 11:1 What is faith? It is the cofident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.

Jeremiah 29:11 I know the thought that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you and expected end.

Psalm 40:17 I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Psalm 121....
